About PuffPause

PuffPause is a quit-vaping app built around a simple observation: a craving peaks and passes in a few minutes, and almost nobody has anything to do with those minutes. The app gives you a guided breath, a taper plan, and a visible streak. This blog exists for the same reason, most quit-vaping advice online is written by people who have never had to sit through a 2 a.m. craving.

Editorial policy

Every health claim is sourced

Claims about nicotine, withdrawal, or cessation outcomes cite primary sources, peer-reviewed research, the CDC, the NHS, or national quitlines. Sources are listed at the bottom of each article with direct links, not buried in prose.

We answer the question first

Each guide opens with a direct, self-contained answer before any context. If you only read the first eighty words, you should still have something you can act on.

No scare tactics, no absolutes

Quitting is hard and relapse is common. We describe what the evidence supports, name the uncertainty where it exists, and never imply that a single method works for everyone.

We say when we have a stake

PuffPause makes a quit-vaping app. When a guide covers app features or compares tools, we say so plainly and describe competing options on their merits.

Guides are dated and revised

Every article shows when it was published and last updated. We revisit guides when guidance changes, when new research lands, or when a reader tells us something is wrong.

Who writes this

The PuffPause Editorial Team

Behaviour change & cessation research

The PuffPause editorial team reads the primary cessation literature and public health guidance, then translates it into steps you can take in the ten minutes a craving actually lasts. Every health claim is sourced; every guide is dated and revisited.

Clinical review pending

Every health claim on this page is sourced to the CDC, NHS, NIH, or Cochrane. We are onboarding a licensed clinician as standing medical reviewer.

Reviews guides that describe symptoms, medication, or clinical timelines for accuracy before publication.
